La Esperanza (1981) – Behind the Scenes of the “A La Esperanza” Mural

In the early 1970s, Jimmy Longoria and Malú Ortega designed the mural to symbolize the hopes that so many had for Pilsen at the time. Fortunately, Community TV Network’s students from Latino Youth Alternative High School were there to document it all on video!

This video is featured in The National Museum of Mexican Art’s “40 años A la esperanza” exhibit, which will be on display until March 15, 2020.
