The free screening will take place Wednesday, October 19 at Bowen High School from 3:30 to 4:30 pm with a brief discussion to follow.
The jazz films consists of two performances by Fats Waller, a short film featuring Lena Horne, a clueless newsreel from 1937, and the finale of the 1943 film “Stormy Weather,” which includes the greatest dance number ever caught on film. The cartoon program includes Bugs Bunny, Felix the Cat, and the “Sorcerer’s Apprentice” scene from Fantasia.
