Helping the under-privileged is what it’s all about, right? Today, CTVN visited one of the many schools taking advantage of our youth programs: Sullivan House High School.

For about two-years now, one of CTVN’s instructors, Leonardo Fallucca has been educating students on the film industry. Fallucca enjoys interacting with the kids on a day to day basis, getting to know both their strengths & weaknesses.

“I really love being with the kids, every day you learn something new, it keeps you alive,” said Fallucca.

And it doesn’t take long to realize the students love him just as much.

During an interview with Michael K, a senior at Sullivan House, he said had a great working relationship with Fallucca and appreciated his teaching methods.

“He’s a great teacher, he wants to get the points across and he wants you to pay attention,” said Michael K.

The students were able to sneak away for an interview, where they explained the impact Fallucca has had on their high school experience.

During today’s class the students were practicing on-screen performance. Each had to take turns speaking to the camera, bombarded by lights and broadcast on a big screen. They were required to tell a story that had a positive message behind it. A few takes later and the students became comfortable speaking on camera and in front of the class.

Thanks to Sullivan House’s principal, Dr. Gattuso, the program has brought immense positivity and creativity to the school. The students look forward to attending each class, as it gives them an outlet they normally wouldn’t have access to. “It gives them another elective that they love to go to, it gives them a hands-on experience,” said Principal Dr. Gattuso.
