Last weekend, Community TV Network filmed and photographed a large birthday party in the Bridgeport neighborhood, giving our interns the chance to showcase their production skills. The interns, Byonca Dodson and Elsa Concepcion, were supervised by Vedran Residbegovic, filmmaker who has worked on many of CTVN’s professional video jobs in the last five years. In addition to helping decide how and what to shoot, Byonca and Elsa had the difficult task of getting used to new equipment — Canon EOS C100 and manual Nikon lenses.
“When we started, I gave Byonca and Elsa some basic instructions, but the two of them soon took over completely. They did an amazing job,” said Vedran Residbegovic.
Byonca and Elsa weren’t the only ones learning, as Residbegovic had to get used to his more supervisory role: “One thing I worked on is to be completely comfortable to step away from the camera, trusting our interns to do a great job with the video. I knew that Elsa and Byonca had the skills and experience to get exceptional footage.”
